Running alongside mixed forests of ash, chestnut, beech, and birch trees, the trail passes by the two main artistic landmarks of the small town of Castelnuovo di Ceva: the sandstone tower that once served the castle, dating back to the 13th century and built for the Marquises of Ceva; the unmissable Chapel of San Maurizio, a former parish church now located within the cemetery grounds, which houses extraordinary late-Gothic frescoes dating back to 1459.
